Fundraising/Grant Coordinator/Social Media Wizard
Amanda Breanne
Hello, I ‘m Amanda. I moved to Camrose in the Fall of 2020 for an Accounting Internship and am
currently pursuing my CPA designation. I started volunteering with CAARS to get involved in the
community in a meaningful way. You can find me helping at events, posting to our social media pages,
and occupying a spot on the board as Grant and Fundraising Coordinator. I have 4 cats, 1 of which was
adopted from CAARS! I am simply an animal lover trying to spread positivity and good vibes to create a
better world.

Secretary
Maureeen Scrutton
I am a retiree after many years of working with the Government of Alberta.
I am married, with 3 daughters and a new grandaughter.
We have 2 great cats, a male who will be 14 this year and one we adopted from CAARS, who is a blind (Marcy) that we've had almost two years.
My hobbies include genealogy and photography.

Treasurer
Jackie Lewsaw
I'm Jackie Lewsaw and I have always loved animals, especially cats. I have been fostering with CAARS for over two years. Animal rescue is very rewarding for myself and my family, especially when we get to help kittens and cats become used to humans and develop behaviours that will help them when they transition to their forever home. I have two of my own cats, Tiger and Appleton (my foster fail).

Board Member Since 2020
Nancy Walline
I have 5 of my own cats, all rescues or offspring of rescues. I've been with Camrose Animal Alliance for a few years. I lived overseas for some time and was involved with an abandoned kitten rescue group. Lots of bottle feeding! Monday to Friday I work as an administrative assistant in the transportation industry. I also have a part-time job in retail.

Foster Home Coordinator

During the pandemic I was looking for something animal related to do as I had some very hard times. I have always loved animals. In recent years cats in general. Caars reached out and that’s how we met. This was the best thing I could have done for me. Now I am in school for a vet assistant. I love every second of this. The good the sad and everything in between. I always love learning new things and this defiantly does that.

Co-Founder
Karen Dahlin
Hi! I'm Karen and I'm a co-founder of CAARS. I also created the logo and wrote our motto "Every animal deserves a chance at life and a loving home."
I have always loved animals and currently have two rescue dogs. Due to a family emergency abroad I had to leave the rescue but I am so proud of it's continuing success.
